As many have said first impressions are everything! And our first impression of the gentleman owner was rude and harassing. We were told at 11pm to turn off our radio that was on a level that was light enough to only be heard at our site. About 20 min later we were told we were to loud as 6 of us sat around a camp fire. We were sitting with some neighbors we had just met and were just getting to know one another. By no means were we loud. Then finally a 3rd time we were told that a lady laughing was too loud! Apparently you can not laugh at all. We asked our neighbors across and beside us if we were too loud or causing any problems and they all assured us that they heard nothing. The owner came and told my husband that we were loud and started to harass us. We have been coming to the campground for about 3 years and have enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere so I assure you we were not being rude or loud! Needless to say we will not be coming back to the campground as the way we were treated was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We were treated like we were troublemakers! As hard working adults we look forward to these camping weekends to rest relax and make memories and unfortunately the only memories from this trip are those of a rude owner. That being said if you want to stay at a place that expects silence at 10pm this place is for you. We for one will not be back.

Beautiful Camping Spot -- peaceful - very friendly attendants. Large spaces. |Had deer feeding next to our camper. Easy walkable location. Stayed two nights, will be back to stay longer and bring our canoe.

This was a great little family campground. The tent spaces were on the small side. You are up close and personal with your neighbor. We stayed during the week so we did not have any neighbors. The campground is in the middle of farm land which is so peaceful. There were a lot of activities for the kids. We were there to have a place to stay while going to Cedar Point. This was perfect for that. The bathhouse is well maintained. There were workers attending to new renovations as we stayed. It is great seeing owners keeping the facilities well maintained and improving them.

Everything about the campground was clean and well maintained and very easy to get to. The campsites themselves are very close together and it's a very family oriented place so you might want to. You can't hold the campground hosts owners keep that in mind when you go there that there are a lot of children. With that being said all of the children's attractions were very close to the campsites and at times the noise is nearly unbearable. Like several teenaged boys playing basketball at 8:00 in the morning 10 ft from where we were sleeping. We didn't hate the place but will try to choose a campsite further away from the basketball court next time.

The property is very well kept so close to everything. The bathrooms were very clean. The staff was the nicest. My family recommends visiting the Deer Park my kids liked that the best we visited Cedar Point but the best was the Deer Park. …

First impressions matter. You can't take them back. And when the second I open my car door a guy in a golf cart claiming to be the owner is yelling at me about a car tag, that is not the welcome I would expect for a new guest. I explained that I had been TOLD to come straight to the site, and my tag was in the RV since my mom had arrived first, she had been given all of our tags by the office staff. My mom shouted out the window that she had my tag. He said I still should have stopped at the office and checked in and "next time" I needed to do that. Well, with that attitude, there will never be a "next time" at this campground for me! (And yell at your office staff if that's not how you want things run, don't yell at your customers!) Honestly, the campground itself wasn't bad, I probably would have given it at least 3 stars without this experience. But like I said, first impressions matter, and that one tainted my whole stay. I was constantly on the lookout for that nasty guy every time I went outside, worried about getting harassed more. The price is high considering there is no pool, and it's not THAT close to Cedar Point and the pull-through sites are pretty small and narrow (I did note that the back-in sites were a little bit more spacious). They also charge $5/day per person for visitors, and for what, with no pool? It is quiet, I'll give them that. I also noted that a lot of the other negative reviews mention the rude owner, so clearly he doesn't care to improve his customer service skills. I have no intention of coming back ever, and I do not recommend this campground.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience this past weekend. I have been taking time to collect my thoughts regarding our stay at Crystal Rock. My husband came early and set up the camper and I arrived after. I hadn't put my pass on my car mirror, I was unpacking the car. Within 25 minutes the owner came by on his golf cart and yelled at us for not registering. (I had pre registered online with our car information and plate numbers.) Not a great way to start our weekend in the least. After that we made sure our guests registered and paid the $5. We also were scolded for sitting around the fire- talking with our music on low volume. They definitely require you to go to bed by 11:00pm. We were harassed even when we turned the music off. We weren't partying, yelling, screaming or hurting anyone. The worst part was when we were leaving the campground. My son had a friend come up that arrived after the office was already closed for her to register. I told him that when they got up she has to register. They didn't and that was a HUGE mistake. As she was walking to her car the owner came out, yelling about her not registering in a very threatening manor. He stepped toward my son like he was going to assault him and said that he would just close the gate. They went and registered and he said "you owe me $5". There is an extreme lack of professionalism and how to speak appropriately to your customers. I believe that he needs some anger management classes or some guidance on how to speak to people. Guests paying the $5/registering is not the issue, it was how he handled the interactions. Camping sites are tight and stacked on top of each other. Expensive to camp there and not be able to have full hook up after we paid for it. On a positive note, I have to say it is a very kid friendly campground. We are frequent campers and like to try new places. Sadly we will not be returning and will be sure to share how negative our experience is with all of our camping family and friends. Saying a prayer that he can find some peace with how he handles situations in the future.
